Support groups to empower women of the families of the disappeared

In partnership with Act for the Disappeared, ABAAD Resource Centre for Gender Equality organises support groups for women of the families of the disappeared since 2014. ABAAD has been working in 5 districts, selected according to ICRC’s mapping of victims of disappearance, covering Tripoli, Tyre, Ein El-Remeneh, Shatila Camp, Deir Al-Amar and Aley. The support group sessions involve a psychotherapist facilitating discussions among the victims to identify common issues and possible interventions. The sessions are conducted with the support of local organizations (e.g. Najdeh - a Palestinian organization provided organizational support for the Shatila Camp support groups).
