Smart application drivers who work for Careem start an open-ended strike nationwide to protest the company's policies and its inaction. They strike 3 hours a day, from 7am to 10am. Drivers demand to reduce the service charge deducted by Careem from 25 to 20%, to halt arbitrary dismissal of drivers, to extend the operational lifetime of their vehicles, to cancel the 4% governmental tax, and to align Careem tariffs with LTRC tariffs. They suspended their strike on June 14 due to the government inaction.
