Security forces arrested 15 teachers who were heading towards the Education Directorate in Mafraq to stage a sit-in to demand a resolution to the issue of teachers referred to early retirement or suspended from work, and to demand the reinstatement of their dissolved syndicate. They were arrested in the morning and detained for 16 hours. Other teachers who wanted to take part in the sit-in could not as security forces surrounded their houses.
