In September 2010, Article 59 of the Lebanese Labour Law was amended to grant Palestinian refugee workers(1)CEDAW “Concluding observations on the combined fourth and fifth periodic reports of Lebanon,” The UN OHCHR, 2015, p. 2, available at:  http://tbinternet.ohchr.org/_layouts/treatybodyexternal/Download.aspx?symbolno=CEDAW%2fC%2fLBN%2fCO%2f4-5&Lang=ar  (last accessed 28 December 2017) , both men and women, the same rights as Lebanese workers – most notably, the right for compensation upon being dismissed from work. Additionally, on the same occasion, Palestinian refugee workers(2)CEDAW “Concluding observations on the combined fourth and fifth periodic reports of Lebanon,” The UN OHCHR, 2015, p. 2, available at:  http://tbinternet.ohchr.org/_layouts/treatybodyexternal/Download.aspx?symbolno=CEDAW%2fC%2fLBN%2fCO%2f4-5&Lang=ar  (last accessed 28 December 2017)  were granted an end-of-service compensation by amending Article 9 of the Social Security Law (SSL).
