Hospitals refuse third-party payments of public employees’ cooperatives and NSSF

Since public employees’ cooperatives and the NSSF trigger third-party payments at the official bank rate of 1,500 LBP for the dollar, public and private hospitals are increasingly refusing third-party payments of social security institutions, asking patients to deposit large cash amounts in order to be admitted to the hospital and access treatment in the case of an emergency.
