In December 2005, the Lebanese Centre for Political Studies (LCPS) organized in collaboration with the International Centre for Transitional Justice and the Sustainable Democracy Centre the workshop ‘Dealing with the Past in Lebanon: Various Approaches to Transitional Justice.’ The workshop discussed specific mechanisms of dealing with the past including judicial accountability, non-judicial truth-seeking options, reparations to victims and memorialization in the Lebanese context. In addition, it featured cases/experiences from Argentina, Chile, Ghana, Morocco, Peru, and South Africa.
