Careem, Uber, and Jeeny drivers stage a sit-in in front of the Ministry of Transportation to protest against the lack of state response to their demands. Their demands include renewing their work permits through the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) without referring to their companies, reducing the service charge deducted by companies to 15 %, cancelling the 4% tax withheld from drivers by companies, aligning companies tariffs with LTRC tariffs, increasing penalties for companies that do not align with LTRC tariffs, aligning job security standards with LTRC standards, conditioning the ban of drivers and removal of their work permits to LTRC approval and reducing work permit fees to 200 dinars.
