Detailed description of violation:
On April 9, al Jadeed cameraman Ali Shaaban was shot and killed in the Wadi Khaled area of northern Lebanon while on assignment. Al Jadeed blamed the Syrian army for Shaaban’s death, saying that the army opened fire at the three-member crew’s vehicle, which was clearly marked as a press vehicle, while it was in Lebanese territory. According to reports the vehicle was hit by approximately 40 bullets.
