Protesters demonstrate in front of the Grand Serail and clash with security forces
Saturday, hundreds of protesters gathered in Downtown Beirut marking the 101st day of nationwide protests against the political elite. Before arriving at Riad al-Solh they marched in front of the ministries of finance and interior, Electricite du Liban, and the Central Bank in Hamra and the Association of Banks in Saifi.Security forces pushed protesters out of Downtown Beirut Saturday evening after firing tear gas and water cannon on demonstrators gathered in the area.The escalation came after protesters attempted to tear down barriers installed near the Grand Serail.
