Journalists and activists express support for Nida Al Watan

Journalists and activists held a solidarity stand with Nida Al Watan newspaper after its editor-in-chief and responsible director were summoned to appear at the Justice Palace over a controversial front-page article published last week. Editor-in-Chief Bechara Charbel and Responsible Director George Berbari are set to appear at the Justice Palace in Beirut the following day. The Lebanese Press Federation called for the transfer of all cases related to journalism and freedom of speech to the Publications Court, criticizing the state for resorting to the judiciary to hold journalists accountable.
