Iqlim al-Kharoub residents protest against 'illegal' competition
On 30 Jan 17, shop keepers in Iqlim al-Kharoub held a symbolic protest against unlicensed establishments by foreigners that they say undercuts their business. The residents declared that they understand the precarious position of the area’s Syrian refugees, however the matter jeopardizes their future and their families. They urged the state to assume its responsibilities, ban smuggling and implement the law that states that Syrian nationals should obtain working visas.
