Gas stations across the country in strike

Gas stations closed across the country Thursday after the Syndicate of Gas Station Owners called for an open-ended strike Wednesday in protest at ongoing dollar shortages.

Long lines appeared at stations almost immediately after the announcement of the strike Wednesday evenin,g as drivers rushed to fill their vehicles with fuel.

The strike comes as importers of many goods, including fuel and medicine, have warned that a dollar shortage is putting their ability to purchase goods from outside Lebanon in danger.
