عاد الأساتذة المتعاقدون إلى الشارع، بالآلاف هذه المرّة، تزامناً مع عقد مجلس الوزراء اجتماعاً يضمّ وزير التربية ولجنة التربية النيابية ومنظّمات خارجية في لقاءٍ تشاوريٍ تعليميّ، اليوم الإثنين. وقد عرض الأساتذة المتعاقدون سلّة مطالبهم، أبرزها مضاعفة أجر ساعة التعليم وإعطاء المنحة الاجتماعية (90$ شهرياً) التي استلمتها الحكومة من الدول المانحة. كما طالبوا ببدل النقل والاستفادة من الضمان الاجتماعي وإقرار ملفّ التثبيت. وفي حين فكّت السلطة إضراب أساتذة التعليم الثانوي بعد سيطرتها على نقابتهم، الأحد الفائت، أكّد باقي الأساتذة المتعاقدين استمرار إضرابهم في الشارع كما في الصفوف.
Thousands of part-time contract teachers returned to the streets on Monday, at the same time that the Cabinet held a consultative meeting with the Education Minister, the Parliamentary Education Committee and foreign organizations. The teachers presented a number of demands, notably doubling the hourly wages, and distributing the social subsidy ($90 per month) that the government received from donor countries. They also demanded transportation allowance, social security, and approval of the full-time hires dossier. The authorities ended the strike of secondary education teachers after taking control of their union last Sunday, but the rest of part-time teachers confirmed their ongoing strike in the streets as well as in the classrooms.
