Beirut residents protested against increased power cuts
Beirut residents protested against the increasing number of power cuts in some districts of the city. A number of neighborhoods in and around Ras Beirut have since June seen the length of their electricity cuts increased due to technical failures.
“Beirut has been suffering from power outages that last for 11 hours a day in some of the quarters of the capital,” read a statement circulated amongst the demonstrators, who gathered in front of Electricite du Liban in Beirut's Mar Mikhael.
