The Association of Depositors in Lebanon organises a solidarity sit-in outside the Justice Palace in Beirut to demand the release of arrested bank depositor Abdullah al-Saai
Protesters stage a solidarity sit-in outside the Justice Palace in Beirut to demand the release of arrested bank depositor Abdullah al-Saa, who took hostages in a bank in the Bekaa on Tuesday in an attempt to retrieve his savings. Abdullah al-Saai has been accused of brandishing a gun, a grenade and gasoline inside the Jeb Jenine branch of Bank of Beirut and the Arab Countries, where he threatened to start a fire if the bank did not give him the $50,000 he had in his account. Saai was arrested by Internal Security Forces. Saai has announced he will observe a hunger strike until he is released, according to our correspondent in the area.
