Jaafar Fakih

Jaafar Fakih has extensive experience working in human rights in the Middle East and North Africa region. Shortly following his graduation from Lake Forest College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and human rights studies, Jaafar relocated to Beirut and worked on documenting human rights violations in Gulf countries and supporting the engagement of civil society organizations in the region with the UN Special Procedures. Jaafar also engaged with civil society efforts to advocate for the reform of Lebanon’s labor code. Currently, Jaafar is working on the issue of missing persons in Syria. He recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a master's degree in international human rights law.

لدى جعفر فقيه خبرة واسعة في مجال حقوق الإنسان في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا. بعيد تخرجه من كلية ليك فورست حيث حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في العلاقات الدولية ودراسات حقوق الإنسان، انتقل جعفر إلى بيروت وعمل على توثيق انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان في دول الخليج ودعم مشاركة منظمات المجتمع المدني في المنطقة مع الإجراءات الخاصة للأمم المتحدة. كما شارك جعفر في جهود المجتمع المدني للدعوة إلى إصلاح قانون العمل اللبناني. ويعمل جعفر حالياً على قضية المفقودين في سوريا. تخرج مؤخرًا من جامعة أوكسفورد بدرجة الماجستير في القانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان.
