Heba Wanis

Heba Wanis is a researcher in public health and development. She is interested in access to medicines as a fundamental component of the right to health, and particularly focuses on pharmaceutical policy, drug regulation, pricing and intellectual property. She has authored and contributed to several publications in this area. Wanis has worked and consulted for several organisations such as the UNDP, WHO, UN Women, the South Centre, the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights, People’s Health Movement and Plan International. She currently works with Third World Network. Wanis studied pharmaceutical sciences and holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Edinburgh and a M.A. in Community Psychology from the American University in Cairo.
