Beyond aid: social justice and social contracts-أبعد من المعونة: العدالة الاجتماعية والعقود الاجتماعية
تشهد الاقتصادات والدول النيوليبرالية في جنوب غرب آسيا وشمال إفريقيا، موجاتٍ من التحرّكات الإجتماعيّة التي ترفع الصوت اعتراضًا على تقليص الحقوق الاجتماعية والاقتصادية وسياسة "التفقير"، إذ أعادَ المحتجّون طرح المسألة الاجتماعية في طليعة النقاشات العامّة، وتحديدًا المطالب المتعلّقة بالمواطنة والعدالة والحماية الاجتماعية. ومع تفشّي جائحة فيروس كورونا، ورغم أنّها أبطأت حركة المحتجّين، إلَّا أنَّها ضاعفَت تأثير سياسات التقشّف وزادَت من تضاؤل الأموال العامّة المتاحة للسياسات الاجتماعية والإصلاحات
تهدف هذه الندوة إلى مناقشة إرساء عقود الاجتماعية جديدة مبنيّة على العدالة الاجتماعية في المنطقة، والتفكير في الأسباب الهيكلية لانعدام المساواة التي تطال جميع فئات وشرائح المجتمع في المنطقة

All over the world, and particularly in the SWANA region, neoliberal economies and states are witnessing cycles of movements protesting the shrinking social and economic rights, pauperisation. Protestors have brought back to the forefront of public debates the social question, and more practically, demands of citizenship, and social justice, and protection. The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, while slowing the physical movement of protestors, has however heightened the impact of policies of austerity and shrinking public funds for social policies and reforms.
This webinar aims at discussing social justice and social contracts in the region, and reflecting on the structural causes of inequalities that affect all populations in the region.
