Access to health in the MENA: towards a right-based approach-الوصول إلى الصحّة في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا: نحو مقاربة مبنيّة على الحقوق

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to strain the healthcare system and the provision of health services worldwide, in the MENA region particularly, it has shed light on the structural challenges of the healthcare systems. 
The latter are often fragmented with a multiplicity of institutions, schemes, services, and financing sources, with an increased tendency to privatisation, leading to unequal access to healthcare benefits and coverage and contributing to perpetuating inequalities and exclusion. This webinar aims to discuss access to healthcare in the region from a human-right based perspective. It will reflect on various contexts and systemic challenges countries in the region are facing in the health sector, and explore how to push forward the enactment of universal and inclusive healthcare systems for all throughout the life cycle.

فيما تستمرّ جائحة كوفيد-19 في استنزاف نظام الرعاية الصحّية والخدمات الصحّية حول العالم، سلّطت هذه الأزمة الضوء في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا تحديدًا على التحدّيات الهيكلية في أنظمة الرعاية الصحّية 
تُعاني أنظمة الرعاية الصحّية من التجزئة بالإجمال، مع تعدُّد المؤسّسات والخطط والخدمات ومصادر التمويل، ومع النزعة المتزايدة إلى الخصخصة. وذلك يؤدّي إلى وصول محدود وغير متساوٍ إلى خدمات الرعاية الصحية وتغطيتها، مما يُساهِم في تعزيز عدم المساواة والإقصاء 
تهدف هذه الندوة إلى مناقشة الوصول إلى الرعاية الصحّية في المنطقة من منظور حقوق الإنسان. وستتطرّق إلى مختلف السياقات والتحدّيات المنهجية التي تواجهها بلدان المنطقة في قطاع الصحّة، مع الاطلاع على كيفية الدفع بإنشاء خطة أنظمة رعاية صحّية شاملة للجميع طيلة دورة الحياة
