DRC: Rehabilitating buildings, setting up collective and box shelters

DRC provides a range of shelter solutions to the current housing crisis facing the refugee and host community populations. Since January 2013, DRC has rehabilitated 27 collective shelters and provided 87 box shelters to individual housing units. DRC also works to rehabilitate host family houses. To respond to the increasing shelter needs in West and Central Bekaa, 158 additional locations for shelter boxes have been identified in that area since January.

SHEILD: aid distribution, referral for registration, activities in community centers

SHEILD – UNHCR Project Targeting Syrian Refugees:
Outreach activities in view of registration. Identification of eligible Syrian cases and referral for UNHCR registration.
Provision of food and non food coupons including hygiene items to registered refugees. (2000 individuals in Nov. and 4000 in Dec.)

Muslim Aid: aid distribution, healthcare and shelter support

As for Syrian families are deeply suffering, since they came without alternative clothes, and are in need for food, milk, medicines, mattresses, and thermal blankets and other vital means for life, Thus Muslim Aid distributed food parcels and NFI's for 700 Syrian refugees families at North lebanon (Wadi Khaled, Tripoli and Akkar in addition to Mount lebanon Iklim Alkaroub.

Muslim Aid: aid distribution, healthcare and shelter support

Muslim Aid’s recent humanitarian activity includes distribution of relief packs containing food items, clothes, outerwear, thermals, blankets, coal and mattresses to beneficiaries inside Syria. In addition to this, rugs and hygiene packs have also been distributed to over 2000 refugee families in Lebanon and 500 families in Jordan.
As well as emergency aid, Muslim Aid has also provided healthcare and shelter support to Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.

Medair: Site Planning and Improvements for Informal Tented Settlements

Site Planning for informal settlements. Standing water and rubbish has collected in many communities which has increased risks of water cross-contamination and water-borne illnesses. Medair is helping settlements to develop drainage and sanitation in several sites to improve the overall health and hygiene of 40 different sites

Medair: Shelter Kits and NFI distribution (household items)

Distribution of shelter kits (including plastic sheeting, vinyl, and wood planks) to improve the durability and resilience of tents against weather and environment. Distribution of basic non-food items to new arrivals to provide families with basic cooking utensils, mattresses, and blankets. Medair is distributing over 5,800 shelter kits and 1,620 non food item kits by the end of the year, serving over 36,000 people.
