Cafes and restaurants will now be permitted to serve nargileh for the first time since coronavirus lockdown measures were implemented, the Tourism Ministry announced Wednesday. This is the latest in a series of coronavirus lockdown measures to be lifted as numbers of infections remain stable in the country. The Tourism Ministry in a circular outlined a number of safety measures for establishments serving nargileh, including the consistent testing of employees for coronavirus and the use of steam sterilizers and disinfectants for all parts of the water pipe before and after each use.The banning of nargileh, also known as “shisha,” was among one of the first restrictions to be implemented to stem the spread of coronavirus in the country.
