Lebanon froze the accounts of and issued a travel ban Thursday on seven port officials who are being held under house arrest following this week's deadly explosion.

According to a directive by Banque Du Liban's Special Investigation Commission, the account freeze and lifting of banking secrecy would apply to accounts directly or indirectly linked to Beirut Port General Manager Hassan Koraytem, as well as the Director General of Lebanese Customs Badri Daher, along with five other port and customs officials.

State Prosecutor Ghassan Oueidat also issued travel bans on the seven port and customs officials.

The seven individuals – Hassan Koraytem, Chafik Merhi, Badri Daher, Nayla El-Hajj, Michel Nahoul, Georges Daher, and Nehme Brax – are also set to be questioned by the Lebanese Army, who have been given the responsibility following Lebanon's decision to enter a state of emergency Wednesday.
