President Michel Aoun signs a decree to conduct exceptional Parliament sessions

President Michel Aoun Tuesday signed a decree allowing Parliament to hold exceptional sessions from June 1 until Oct. 21, according a statement from the presidency’s office.

Parliament holds two regular sessions a year – from the third week of March until the end of May and from the third week of October through the end of December.

The exceptional sessions would allow Parliament to discuss the draft 2019 state budget, which Cabinet approved Monday.

The statement added that during the exceptional session, Parliament will also discuss other draft laws that are already in the General Assembly.
