Mount Lebanon Public Prosecutor Judge Ghada Aoun has "charged the director-general of the Internal Security Forces, Maj. Gen. Imad Othman, with obstructing the implementation of a judicial warrant and breaching the duties of his job," a judicial source confirmed to L’Orient Today on Wednesday. The charge follows allegations that the ISF impeded efforts Tuesday to apprehend central bank Governor Riad Salameh and bring him in for questioning under a subpoena issued by Judge Aoun. Imad Othman is expected to appear next week in front of Beirut's first investigating judge, Nicolas Mansour, as part of the investigation into Salameh, according to local TV channel LBCI.
