Higher Defense Council to boost security, development in Bekaa
Lebanon’s Higher Defense Council convened Friday, agreeing to boost security and development in the Bekaa region, local media reported.
The council decided to “take necessary measures” to improve security and development in the Bekaa Valley, with a particular focus on Baalbeck, according to reports.
President Michel Aoun chaired the meeting, while Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Lebanese Army head Gen. Joseph Aoun were also in attendance.
These meetings are usually attended by the interior and defense ministers and the head of the country's security apparatuses, including the Lebanese Army.
