Cabinet endorses economic rescue plan

Lebanon's Cabinet unanimously approved an economic rescue plan designed to halt the country's slide toward chaos and financial collapse. Official sources said the plan had been approved after minor amendments were made. Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad confirmed that Cabinet had also approved a bill amending the Special Investigative Commission on money laundering based on the observations of the Finance Ministry, in a bid to fight corruption and recover millions of dollars in looted public funds.
