Cabinet approves appointment of three judicial inspectors

Date:
Thursday, July 9, 2020

Cabinet approved the appointment of three judicial inspectors, Information Minister Manal Abdel-Samad said after Thursday’s session. Jad Maalouf, Maya Fawaz and Mary Abu Murad were appointed to the judicial inspection department. Abdel-Samad said in a televised news conference that there were “positive indications for negotiations with the International Monetary Fund,” adding that they are expected to resume Tuesday. Talks with the IMF have stalled due to a lack of political agreement over Central Bank loss figures, which are required by the IMF to move forward with a $10 billion bailout package. “Solutions are slow because there are obstacles,” Abdel-Samad pointed out, saying that “every ministry plays its role.”
