Banque du Liban issues Circular 587 to compel exchange offices to specify their daily opening and closing cash balances in local and foreign currencies on the electronic platform for exchange operations

The Lebanese Central Bank issued on June 21, 2021 intermediate decision 13337 under intermediate circular 587 regarding the electronic platform for exchange operations by adding clause 6 to article 1 of BDL basic circular 5 (BDL basic decision number 13236). In detail, the circular stated that every exchange bureau has to specify on a daily basis its’ daily opening and closing cash balances in local and foreign currencies on the platform, noting that the foreign exchange unit at the Central Bank is in charge of matching the data.
