Banque du Liban issues Circular 582 to remove from several circulars references to the exchange rate on the electronic trading platform and to adopt instead the exchange rate of LBP 3,900 per US dollar

The Lebanese Central Bank issued on May 10, 2021 intermediate decision 13325 under intermediate circular 582, which amends basic decision no. 6116 under basic circular 23 (pertaining to facilities provided by the Central Bank to banks and financial institutions), basic decision no. 13221 under basic circular 151 (pertaining to exceptional procedures related to cash withdrawals from bank accounts in foreign currency) and basic decision no. 13254 under basic circular 152 (pertaining to aiding individuals and entities that were damaged by the Beirut port explosion). In details, intermediate circular 582 removes from all three aforementioned circulars any reference to the exchange rate on the electronic trading platform and adopts instead the exchange rate of LBP 3,900 per US dollar.
