Massive brush fire triggers landmine blasts along south Lebanon border Civil Defense, UNIFIL, Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF)

Firefighters Thursday contained a massive blaze that broke out one day earlier near the southern town of Adaisseh along the border with Israel. High temperatures and low humidity fed the fire, which erupted at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
A security source told The Daily Star two landmines exploded due to the brush fire. No one was hurt. Israel had left thousands of unexploded ordnance in south Lebanon during its 18-year occupation.
Dozens of Civil Defense firefighters, backed by the Lebanese Army and U.N. peacekeepers serving in south Lebanon, worked to ensure that the blaze was completely doused, the source added.

Intensive Israeli patrols on border line

NNA - Intensive Israeli patrols were spotted moving on the border line between the two villages of Kfarkilla and Adeysseh, National News Agency correspondent reported.
The field reporter added that a number of Israeli soldiers and military vehicles were deployed in the region.
