The military shelled the positions of gunmen on the outskirts of Arsal and Ras Baalbek. In the afternoon, the army shelled a group of IS militants who tried to infiltrate from Syria into the outskirts of the al-Naamat area in Lebanese territory, NNA said. “The Lebanese army's artillery bombardment thwarted their infiltration attempt and forced them to retreat,” the agency added. The militants from al-Nusra Front and the IS are taking the porous Lebanese-Syrian border as a hiding place.

|Sit-in at Naameh landfill suspended after crackdown||Lebanese Civilians, Internal Security Forces (ISF)||
Activists temporarily suspended their activities at the Naameh landfill Friday afternoon after a police crackdown earlier in the day cleared the way for Sukleen to resume dumping at the site serving Beirut and Mount Lebanon. At dawn Friday, hundreds of police removed tents erected by protesters near the landfill. Ajwad Ayyash, an activist, was detained at 8:05 a.m. and released several hours later. LAF reopened al-Abdeh roundabout after it was briefly blocked with burning tires by young men from the Akkar town of Bebnin, NNA said.
