Palestinian man Nour Deeb died of wounds sustained in a shootout Sunday with members of Islamist Ansar Allah movement in the Rashidieh Palestinian refugee camp near Tyre. Deeb was wounded in the shooting and died as he was being transferred to hospital, a security source told The Daily Star. Ahmed Mousa Abbas was accused of being responsible for Deeb’s shooting. The man’s death prompted members of his family to take to the streets and shoot into the air. The state-run National News Agency later reported that clashes resumed and Syrian national Saeed al-Madyoun was killed and Deeb’s brother, Rabih Deeb, sustained minor injuries. The NNA also reported that Abbas’ home was burned down. The source added that the incident led Palestinian factions to hold an emergency meeting, which included members of Ansar Allah, to contain the situation and compel the group to hand Deeb’s killer over to the Lebanese authorities.
