Police arrest 2 thieves involved in Beirut armed robbery

BEIRUT: Police detained two thieves who stabbed and robbed a man in Beirut earlier this week, an Internal Security Forces statement said.

The statement said that the two men were arrested in Beirut's Hamra area and the Metn town of Sabtiyeh.

The two suspects admitted to stabbing Syrian F.A. in the back and hand while he was leaving his car and heading into a bank in the Jnah area of Beirut to deposit $17,500 on behalf of his employer.

The incident occurred on Thursday.

The suspects were identified as 25-year-old B.T. and Syrian B.T., 23.

Authorities seized money found in the house of one of the suspects in Hamra and impounded the motorbike used in the robbery.
