The Palestinian refugee camp of el-Bass in the southern district of Tyre  witnessed armed clashes between a group affiliated to a drug dealer on one hand and the Security Committee and Fatah Movement on the other.
 
The clashes erupted as the Security Committee was trying to apprehend the aforementioned dealer. As members of the security force moved to arrest Tohme, his men shot towards civilians, security forces and Lebanese Army barracks. However, Tohme refused to surrender and escaped, leaving two wounded, and extensive damage to surrounding buildings.
 
The ensuing gunfight continued until around 2:30 a.m.
