One of Lebanon’s “most prominent” fugitives along with three other wanted men were killed in a Lebanese Army raid in the Baalbeck towns of Al-Sharawneh

Joseph Hamdan Jaafar, also known as Ali Jaafar, had 200 warrants out for his arrest for crimes including shooting at an Army patrol, killing and injuring a number of Army personnel, forming a gang, drug dealing, impersonating security personnel, forging official documents and dealing military weapons, an Army statement said.

Jaafar and three other suspected gang members were killed in a firefight with Army personnel who had erected security checkpoints and raided houses in the area early Friday morning in an effort to crack down on fugitives in the area.
