Three people suspected of dumping pathological waste in south Beirut's Hay al-Sellom cemetery after collecting the tissue from local hospitals have been arrested.

The trash bags containing human tissue were dumped in a way that threatens public safety.

The ISF’s unit had previously also found a human foot left near the cemetery.

Over the past three days, the ISF arrested three Lebanese nationals believed to be behind the dumping of the remains and referred them to the judiciary following questioning.

The hospitals in question “pledged” to assign an employee to oversee the proper handling of human tissue from surgical operations and burying them in accordance with the law, the ISF said.
