Unknown assailants opened fire in the northern city Tripoli at a Lebanese army Intelligence Adjutant without injuring him, the state-run National News Agency reported on Wednesday. Adjutant A.M. was subject to gunfire in the area of al-Qobbeh, NNA added. Afterwards, the army carried out patrols and raided several houses including that of fugitive Islamist Shadi al-Mawlawi without finding him. They arrested a man on suspicion of his involvement in the act, and erected checkpoints in several areas of the city mainly in Qobbeh and Bab al-Tabbaneh.
