Inauguration Of The Plaque "We Will Not Forget"

Organisation:
ACT for the Disappeared
Type of Organisation:
LNGO
Launched in:
2015
Description:
In 2015, ACT and its partner ABAAD and Artichokes, with the support of the European Union, worked with two groups of families of the missing in the Tyre district towards creating a memorialisation project where they can express themselves and honour their loved ones together. Following this activity, the families expressed their wish to publicly advocate for their right to know about their disappeared family members in their community. They decided to install a commemorative plaque to reaffirm that they will not forget and that they will continue to struggle to uncover the fate of their loved ones. This plaque in the public garden of Tyre aims to become a gathering place for all the families of the missing of Tyre where they could meet to share their suffering and honor their loved ones.
