Nabatieh governor issues Eid motorcycle ban

Nabatieh Governor Mahmoud al-Mawla issued a ban on motorcycles in the southern city for the coming Eid holiday, local media reported Tuesday.

Motorcycles are banned from the city’s streets from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m starting Tuesday until Monday, June 18, “to facilitate the movement of Lebanese citizens,” a statement quoted by local media said.

Security forces were also ordered to increase supervision and protection of places of worship during the holiday.

The Eid vacation, which comes at the end of the holy month of Ramadan, is expected to begin on June 15, although dates have not been officially confirmed.
