Finance Minister allocates funds for elections watchdog

Finance Minister Ali Hasan Khalil signed an extraordinary allocation of funds Wednesday for the Electoral Supervisory Committee, the state-run National News Agency reported. The decision follows complaints from committee members that a lack of funds has hampered its ability to do its job. Though the NNA report did not detail the exact amount of the committee’s budget, it said the funds were allocated “in full.”
